CHRIS MATTHEWS AND FERNANDO RODNEY TEAM UP FOR A CELEBRITY SPORTS WEEKEND BENEFITING BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF BELLEVUE

Chris Matthews 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament and Charity Auction, Fernando Rodney Softball Game and Charity Auction


The Boys and Girls Club of Bellevue will host a two-day sports celebrity weekend event to be held at the Foster Family Foundation Branch of Bellevue Boys & Girls Club at Hidden Valley Sports on July 11th and 12th.

Saturday, July 11th—Seahawk Chris Matthews will be joined by Jermaine Kearse, K.J. Wright, B. J. Daniels,
Kevin Smith and more to play in the Celebrity Round of a 3:3 basketball tournament and charity auction. The tournament starts at 1:30PM with the Open Division for all players high school aged and above. Teams can be all high school, mixed ages, all boys, all girls or co-ed. The winning team will advance on to play for the Championship Title in the Celebrity Division commencing at 5PM Saturday evening. The event is open to the public with a $10 suggested donation to benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue.  Teams of 3 – 4 may register to play in the Open Division or individuals may secure a spot to play with the Pros in the Celebrity Division. Sunday, July 12th—Mariner Fernando Rodney will be joined by former Mariner Jeff Cirillo, former New Oleans Saint Reggie Jones, Bachelorette Desiree Hartsock and husband Chris Siegfried, Bachelor Jason Mesnick, and star of The Voice, Mycle Wastman, will be on hand to play a friendly game of softball the Hidden Valley Sports Field at 5PM. Participants and spectators are also encouraged to bring backpacks and school supplies which will be donated to school children in the Dominican Republic. Club kids will offer concessions featuring traditional baseball fare, and 206 Sports Group will host a charity auction featuring a bat autographed by Albert Pujols, and refreshment station.

Proceeds from both events will benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue and its Be Great Bellevue campaign to raise funds to build a new Clubhouse in Bellevue.
