Eating Recovery Center of Washington, a provider of comprehensive eating disorder treatment for adults and adolescents struggling with anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder and related illnesses, announced today that Ileana Calinoiu, MD has joined the medical treatment team.
As a Staff Psychiatrist, Dr. Calinoiu collaborates closely with the multidisciplinary treatment team to deliver compassionate, individualized care to patients in Residential, Partial Hospitalization, and Intensive Outpatient levels of care.
Dr. Calinoiu has a wealth of experience treating adults, adolescents and children struggling with eating disorders and serious psychiatric concerns. Prior to joining Eating Recovery Center of Washington, Dr. Calinoiu served as Attending Psychiatrist in the Eating Disorders Clinic at Seattle Children’s Hospital, Attending Psychiatrist for the adolescent residential program at the Child Study and Treatment Center in Lakewood, Washington, and Assistant Clinical Instructor at the University of Washington.
A Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Dr. Calinoiu completed her adult residency at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and her child and adolescent fellowship at the University of Washington. She has been recognized as one of the Top 10 Psychiatrists by State and was honored with the Patient’s Choice Award and the Compassionate Doctor Award yearly since 2008. In addition to her work with patients and families, Dr. Calinoiu actively participates in the mental health professional community, having served as President of Advocacy Issues for the Washington State Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Association. In this role, she was a committed advocate for mental health funding and parity, and regularly lobbied Senate and House representatives in Washington, DC.
