A NASCAR track and Cannabis Connection are partnering to put on a historic event for the legalization of Marijuana. We will run the race track for the 5K and follow that event with an Alternative Health Expo. The race date is March 12, 2016 at the Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, WA from 10:00 AM-5:00 PM.
The event aims to improve the public image of marijuana and promote responsible consumption and education. The event will benefit several charities including ihumanrace (ihumanrace.com) and Washington State Association for Substance Abuse and Violence Prevention (WASAVP.ORG).
Our race will feature five different shirt colors; white for “non users,” blue will be for “occasional users,” green will be for “heavy users,” yellow will be for people who have overcome a serious illness with marijuana and red will be for people who have served time in jail for a marijuana related offense. This is meant to be a creative visual demonstration for who the marijuana community is. Our event and our website promotes politically palatable information and promotions.
This race is put on by dedicated volunteers and headed by Crystal Newton, CEO of Phi Consulting. Phi Consulting is the parent company for Cannabis Connection (Cannabisconnection.us), and the Marijuana 5K (marijuana5k.com).
